Trip Itinerary

Day Highlights
Day 01

Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga.
Almost two hours drive to Nayapul and starting walking through the lust, green Modi river valley. Past waterfalls with plunge pools that invite you to swim. Overnight at local guest house.

Day 02

Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani.
A gentle climb through pasture and cultivated fields as you climb up you walk up besides the cascading river through refreshingly cool oak and rhododendron forest. Overnight at local guest house.

Day 03

Hike Poon Hill and trek back to Nayapul and then to Pokhara.  
Wake up early morning and start climbing to Poon Hill (3210m). The view point provides better unobstructed views and sunrise over the high Himalayas. You can see a lots of White Mountain peaks from Poon Hill. After sunrise, return to our guest house and time for breakfast. After breakfast, trek back to Ulleri, Tikhedhunga and Nayapul and then drive to Pokhara. End services.

3 days Poon hill trekking is suitable for any walker looking for something a little more comfortable but challenging as well. It does not require that you have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. Although, daily jugging or walking exercise is useful and you need to be in good physical condition and able to walk for 6 -7 hours daily.

Yes, you can join with group, we guarantees a series of fixed group departures dates for Poon hill trekking. We can arrange small group trekking trip to suit your requirements. Please contact us for group departure dates.

Well, it is not necessary that you need to follow our fixed group departures dates, because private trip departs every day upon your request which are best suited to couples, families and small groups of friends. We are happy to organize your holiday according by your selecting starting date.

All Meals on full board basis will be provided during trekking. Freshly cooked food is served at all times (western, continental and Nepali meals are available in all places). Three meals a day will be provided.

Trekking holidays in Nepal is a exiting and adventure trip. We trek up to 6000m walking through villages, green hills, and white snow path so you need to have right equipments with you. Please contact us for a packing list.

How I can reach Pokhara from Kathmandu?
Well, our 3 days Poon Hill tour starts from Pokhara but starting from Kathmandu is also possible. If you want to start hiking from Kathmandu, there are many options to reach Pokhara city, such as by road or air. Road transportation such as bus, jeep can be easily rented within a day, and you can also confirm bus tickets, or we can do that for you. You have to book a domestic flight ticket for the flight option or we can book it for you, but a few days earlier the flight has to be booked. For any transport from Kathmandu to Pokhara and lodging in Pokhara's hotels, you will be charged an extra fee. Please let us know if you need any assistance from us. 

Weather and Temperature doing the trek
Depending on when you book this trek, the temperature will vary. We organize this trek every day throughout the year. This trek is best done during the spring (March-May) and autumn (September – November). Rhododendrons are in bloom from February to April. The best time to walk on snow at this trek is in the winter (December – February).

Winter (December – February): Minimum temperature will be around -5 Celsius and the maximum temperature will be around 15 Celsius. The weather will be a little bit chilly during this time, but it will still be a good time to go trekking. On this trek, it is the right time to walk in the snow.

In spring (March-May): Minimum temperatures will be around +5 Celsius and maximum temperatures will be around 30 Celsius. Clear skies and good temperatures make this the best time to do this trek. This is the best time of year to see the Rhododendrons.

The maximum temperature will be 30 Celsius and the minimum temperature will be +5 Celsius during the summer (June – August). During this season of rain, we continue to organize this trek. A rain poncho or rain jacket is recommended.

Autumn (September – November): Minimum temperature will be around 0 degrees Celsius and the maximum will be 25 degrees Celsius. Another great time to do this trek is now. After the rainy season, we will have a fresh and beautiful climate

Check List

3 days Poon Hill is a short and easy trek in the Annapurna Region. It is not necessary to have any special gear. The following items are recommended: Hiking shoes, Wear socks, trousers, a warm jacket, T-shirt (or two), long-sleeved shirt, sunscreen (SPF 20+) pack. Bring a torch (flashlight), camera, memory card, and charger (surplus batteries)
In the winter months (December – February), spikes or crampons will be essential if you are doing this trek. If you are doing this trek in summer (June – August), you should bring a rain poncho or rain jacket.
