9 Days Annapurna Circuit Trekking Tour Holiday

9 Days Annapurna Circuit Trekking Tour Holiday

Annapurna Circuit trekking is a classic 09 days adventure holiday that leads you through a diverse range of mountain cultures, scenery and diffrent climatic zones. From the barren topography of the Tibetan plateau, to the Kali Gandaki gorge and the dramatic scenery of the Annapurna massif, we are spoilt for choice in an extremely beautiful region steeped in history, culture and tradition.

We embark our minibus and drive to the road head at Chame- and to the lush terraced fields of the lower Marsayangdi River valley. We set trail here and follow this ancient river as it cuts through the main Himalayan chain. Bamboo and tropical vegetation accompany us as we ascend through the verdant mid-hills into alpine forest and then up higher into alpine meadows. Soon the temperate climate gives way to the arid desert conditions in the Manang district, home to centuries old Buddhist temples and medieval villages.

On our 9 days Annapurna circuit trekking tour, we continue in the footsteps of the ancient salt traders over the Throrung La pass. At 5,416m it is one of the highest trekking passes on earth, but the views from the top of Dhaulagiri (8,167m) are just stupendous. On the way down to the Kali Gandaki gorge, we visit the temple complex in Muktinath, a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists. It is a favorite pilgrimage destination for many of the faithful.

Continuing our descent, we arrive at Kagbeni and the junction of the Jhong Khola and Kali Gandaki Rivers (2,800). We are now in the deepest valley in the world. To the east, Annapurna (8,031m) sits astride the gorge, and on the west Dhaulagiri towers at 8,167m. We end up our trek at Jomsom, the district headquarter of Upper Mustang with a scenic flight to Pokhara.

Annapurna Circuit 9 Days Trek Briefing

Located in central Nepal, the 9 days Annapurna Circuit hiking is the best trekking route that begins in the town of Chame and ends in Jomsom, encircling much of the Annapurna Massif along the way. The trail's namesake mountain is amongst the tallest in the world, standing some 8091 meters in height. This beautiful and majestic peak looms large over numerous sections of the trail, providing a spectacular backdrop for a hike that is already well known for its natural beauty.

The trail first opened to hikers back in the late 1970s, but truly gained its legendary status amongst adventure travelers in the '80s. It was around that time that development in the area started to take off, making it easier to travel to and from the Annapurna region. The city of Pokhara also blossomed into a mecca for backpackers, serving as a gathering point for those looking to hike the Himalayan route.

Today, the 9 days Annapurna Circuit is amongst Nepal's most popular trekking trails, drawing thousands of hikers on an annual basis. Most come for the spectacular beauty that can be found along the route, which includes small villages spaced out every few hours with accommodating tea houses offering good food, thirst-quenching drinks, and a warm, cozy place to spend the night.
As with all adventures that take place in Nepal, the journey begins and ends in the country's capital –Kathmandu. The city is noisy, chaotic, and colorful, with plenty of attractions to keep trekkers busy in their own right. The historic temples, famous markets, and eclectic restaurants are certainly worth a look.

The trek starts with an 8 hour of scenic drive from Kathmandu to Chame, from here the amazing trek continues to Pisang village and Manang village. We suggest you have an extra day at the beautiful Manang village to be perfectly acclimatized yourself. You can explore the surroundings of the village on the acclimatizing day.

The journey continues with a gentle hike to Thorong Base Camp, where you will spend a night with a little bit of feeling of an altitude sickness of a high mountain.
The next day early in the morning, you will cross the mesmerizing Thorong La (5410m) the highest trekking pass in the world and continue to Jomsom where our trek will end. From Jomsom, you can fly or take a mode of local transport to reach Pokhara.

Best Time to Trek

There are two major hiking seasons in Nepal, with one coming in the spring and the other in the fall. The absolute best time to hike in the Himalayas is in October and November, shortly after the annual monsoons have subsided. Typically, the weather is warm, with clear skies, and few rain showers at that time of the year, although evenings can be on the chillier side. Because of this, however, it is also the busiest time of the year too. That means the trail can get crowded and tea houses will sell out quickly. If you're visiting during the peaks season, be sure to book your trip well in advance.

The second best time to hike the Annapurna Circuit is in April and May. By that time of the year, spring has typically arrived, ushering in warmer temperatures and less snowfall. It is a quieter time on the trail, but the weather conditions can be a bit less predictable with a higher chance of rain or clouds. Still, it is generally a lovely time to be in the Annapurna Circuit, with good visibility and excellent hiking on most days.

From June to September, Nepal finds itself in the midst of monsoon season, which brings torrential rain to many parts of the country. But most of the Annapurna Circuit falls in a rain shadow and isn't often hit with heavy downpours. This makes the summer months a surprisingly good time to hike the route, as there are generally very few people traveling in Nepal during that time of year. The downside is that it can be quite warm and muggy on certain segments of the trail, making it an uncomfortable time to be in the mountains.

Some adventurous hikers will trek the route in the winter, as the trail is usually all-but deserted at that time of the year. The trade-off is that snowstorms can strike at any time, temperatures can get quite cold, and there is a higher chance of avalanches closing the trail. Only the most experienced backpackers should hike in the Annapurna circuit at that time of the year, as conditions can actually become life-threatening, particularly if you're unaccustomed to the winter conditions.
