Situated in the Eastern Nepal, this is the most popular trekking region in Himalaya that has a wide range of spectacular treks on the foothills of Mount Everest. In 1979, it was nominated as UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. The park is abundant of hardy terrain with deep gorges, glaciers and gigantic rocks. Blessed with an area of 1148 square kilometers, the park is home to exotic animals such as Musk Deer, Ghoral, Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Tar and many other wild animals. Trekkers’ get to catch a glimpse of the rarely seen Impeyan Pheasant (Daphe), which is also the national bird of Nepal. A wide range of other birds like Snow Cock, Blood Pheasant, and Red Billed Cough is also seen in the park. The track ways pass through the vibrant Red Rhododendrons which gives travelers a surreal experience.

The popular trails of Everest Region Trekking initiate from Jiri. But having said that, the trekkers nowadays prefer the alarming airstrip flight from Lukla (2850m) and from there the journey towards the World’s Highest Mountain begins. Travelers find them surrounded by the iconic snow peaks, while the trail is dotted with the sacred Tibetan Buddhist Mani stones and playfully swinging prayer flags. The stupas which represent the mind of Buddha takes trekkers back to the sixth century with its aesthetically pleasing view. As the trekkers move further, they come across Dudh Khoshi and Bhote Koshi vividly crayoned in the color aqua blue, flowing aside the splashing waterfall making it look like a perfect paradise. Further down the trail, the bustling town of Namche Bazaar welcomes the travelers with a wide grin and glowing eyes from the Sherpas. From the most revered sanctuary of Tengboche Monastery to the twinkling crystal-clear Gokyo Lake to the tremendously stunning Everest Base Camp, Everest region trekking is once-in-a-lifetime experience any traveler can get.
